Acne Scars

Acne scars are a result of the skin healing process from the cystic lesions created by common acne. These can be either atrophic scars which appear as indentations in the skin or hyperpignmentation which are dark red or brown spots. With a series of combination treatments they can be greatly improved. We offer standalone treatments of Chemical Peels, Dermapen and Dermal Fillers or a Combination Acne Scar signature treatment to help you gain your confidence back. You will first have a consultation with our skin specialist to determine the best options for your condition and discuss your treatment plan

Unlike traditional aggressive acid therapy, our range of organic acid peels by Ameson Mesopeel progressively remove the outter layer of the skin with each treatment giving it time to heal with minimal to mild shedding and adverse reactions.

Dermapen creates microscopic puncture channels into the skin’s matrix, stimulating inflammatory, or wound healing response. This promotes intense renewal of collagen fibres in a more structured way, helping to improve the appearance of acne scars.

Glycolic Acid is the perfect for atrophic acne scars due to its small mollecular structure that penetrates deep into skin cells, interacting with fibroblast receptors significantly stimulating production of collagen, elastin firbonectin and hyaluronic acid. The skin is therefore rejuvenated and regenerated.

For dark spots left by acne, the combined Salicylic and Azelaic is excellent for their keratolytic properties that help fight actinic keratosis, rducing discolouration.

Our signature combination of Dermapen, Chemical Peel and Mesotherapy is an excellent treatment for acne scars.

The combination is offered in two different sessions two weeks apart. They work together by addressing different areas of the skin with improved results.

The first session comprises of a dermapen treatment followed by the application of a mesotherapy of Hyaluronic acid that helps plump the skin and reduce the appearance of superficial scars. Dermapen creates microchannels breaking the skin barrier which allows for the mesotherapy solution to penetrate directly into the skin with a higher rate of action. The treatment is finished with a mild peel and a calming mask that prepares your for the session that will follow two weeks after. The session will last about 45min.

The second session two weeks after will consist of the application of either a glycolic or salicylic/azelaic acid as discussed during your consultation depending on your skin condition.

Dermal Fillers can be injected superficially into the skin to plump up the indentations left by acne. It is perfect for smaller concentrated areas like the cheeks or the chin. They do not change the structure of the skin but the results may be seen instantly after the application and can last for 6-12 months.
